Indian shipbuilding ecosystem is currently positioned for a structural growth shift. Following a surge of strategic impetus from the Government of India, MoPSW (Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways) has laid a robust foundation for transformation through the notification of comprehensive guidelines for the Shipbuilding Financial Assistance Scheme (SBFAS) and the Shipbuilding Development Scheme (SbDS). These initiatives, carrying a c
ombined outlay of ₹44,700 crore, are designed to build domestic capability, enhance global competitiveness, and induce high-end technology absorption. This conclave serves as the definitive platform to bridge national vision with industry execution, aligning the sector with the ambitious milestones of Maritime India Vision 2030 and the strategic roadmap of Maritime Amrit Kaal 2047. Our objective is to foster a unified understanding among a diverse array of stakeholders,
including:
- Public and Private Shipyards focused on project readiness and technology adoption.
- State Maritime Boards & Industrial Development Corporations for land and cluster development.
- Design Agencies, Ancillaries, and OEM Suppliers building a domestic supply chain.
- Classification Societies and Academic Institutions driving standards and skills.
- Shipowners from the public, private, and coastal sectors to facilitate a robust forward order pipeline.
Through the technical sessions, we will foster deep exchange across the critical pillars of indigenous design, manufacturing excellence, and port-led development. By integrating these vital components of the maritime machinery, this conclave will accelerate policy uptake, unlock order pipelines, and ensure the Indian shipbuilding ecosystem is informed, aligned, and ready to realize the vision of Viksit Bharat.
