INSTITUTION OF NAVAL ARCHITECTS, in collaboration with Naval Science And Technological Laboratory recently hosted insightful sessions at the Manasi Mohapatra Auditorium, NSTL, Vizag, featuring two focused segments designed to highlight the evolving role of naval architects in India’s maritime ecosystem. 

Session 1: Young Naval Architects in Industry

This session brought together young professionals from leading organisations to share their early‑career experiences and insights from the field.

Speakers included:

  • Shaik Halfaz, Hindustan Shipyard Ltd.

  • Rohini Iyta, Cyient

The speakers discussed practical challenges, workplace expectations, and the growing opportunities for young naval architects in defence, shipbuilding, and design services.

 Session 2: Naval Architects for the Future – Opportunities in the Changing Ecosystem

A high‑level panel explored the rapidly transforming maritime landscape and the skills required for the next generation of naval architects.
