The Department of Ship Technology, Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), in association with the Institution of Naval Architects (INA), was organized a technical talk on “Entrepreneurship in Shipbuilding in Today’s Financial Climate,” held at the Department of Ship Technology, Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT).
The INA Kochi Chapter had the privilege of hosting Mr. Mohanlal Pillai, Chief Executive Officer, Mech Marine Engineers Private Limited, for a technical talk focused on the challenges and opportunities associated with entrepreneurship in the shipbuilding sector, particularly in the context of current financial and market conditions.
Drawing on over 45 years of industry experience, Mr. Pillai shared practical insights on addressing capital challenges, developing niche markets, and responding to the evolving requirements of green and sustainable shipping.
The session aimed to provide valuable insights for professionals, academicians, and students interested in marine engineering, shipbuilding, and entrepreneurial leadership within the maritime industry.
