Technical Session on the Water Transport Heritage of Kalinga
The Institution of Naval Architects (INA) organized an insightful session on “The Glorious Water Transport Heritage of Kalinga,” presented by Prof. S. C. Misra, Former Director, Indian Maritime University (IMU), Visakhapatnam, and President, Forum for River and Ocean Scientists and Technologists (FROST).
The session explored the historical and technical aspects of Kalinga’s maritime traditions, offering valuable perspectives on ancient water transport systems, shipbuilding practices, and navigation methods that contributed to one of India’s significant maritime civilizations.
The presentation provided participants with a deeper understanding of India’s maritime heritage and its relevance to contemporary naval architecture and maritime studies.
